Welcome to The Manchester Community Fair
Michigan's Biggest Little Fair
Dear Fairgoers,
Welcome to the 65th Manchester Community Fair. Once again it is fair time and the Fair Board has worked on a lot of different things for this year’s fair in the off season. Some of them are not finalized at the time of this letter. The compact tractor pull has returned after a short absence. We anticipate that this will be a real success.
Each year as time goes by we lose valued members of our fair family. This year we lost two fine men in Ted Stautz and Bill Ames. Ted was a long-time Manchester businessman. He also served on the Manchester Fire Department, past President of the Manchester Fair Board and was active in a variety of other community organizations. Bill was our Washtenaw County Agricultural Agent for 27 years. He and his family made their home in Manchester. Bill announced the Saturday night tractor pulls. He only missed about three years of the 38 year history of that event. Bill had a strong and clear voice, a great personality and loved to talk to the crowd. Both of these men are gone but their contributions to the fair will never be forgotten.
This year the Fair Board has chosen Pam and Jerry Bristle as 2009 Fair Parade Marshals. Jerry and Pam have both served the fair in every way possible. They became involved when their children were in the animal clubs in the 1970’s. Jerry went on to be the longest serving Manchester Fair Board President. Pam helped start the Snack Shack and worked long and hard for over 20 years to keep it running smooth. Thank you for all you both have done.
Come join us July 7-11th in downtown Manchester, we hope you have a great time at the 65th Manchester Community Fair.
Gary Bross
President, Manchester Community Fair Board
